Guidance Office
September 17th, 2008
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the 2008 – 2009 school year! My name is Beth Dolley and I’m excited about being the new school counselor here at Brown Elementary School.
Throughout the year, I will work with all the children in their classrooms. We will concentrate on some of our more important school values such as respect and responsibility. We will also continue to learn more about having a bully-free school. Some of the topics that we will cover are; conflict resolution skills, personal safety, friendship skills, self-esteem, decision making and communicating feelings.
I work with children in small groups for topics that may be specific to them such as family change, friendship and social skills or anger management. Please contact me if you believe your child/ren would benefit from a group such as the ones that I’ve described.
From time to time, I work with individual children on a short-term basis to help with a problem that may be interfering with his/her learning.
Basically, my job is to help your child be as comfortable and happy as possible so that he/she can do his/her best learning.
I am looking forward to a great year of learning and growing and getting to know you and all your special individual children! Please feel free to call me here at school, stop by or email me at dolleybe@spsd.org with any questions or concerns that you may have.
Sincerely,
Beth Dolley
School Counselor
